Audio Loops
Audio Frequency Induction Loop Systems (AFILS) are used to assist the hearing
impaired by transmitting amplified sound such as speech and music to hearing
aids.
There are various standards and schemes, which refer to induction loop
systems including BS8300 (2002), Building Regulations Part M1: Access to and
use of buildings (2000), The care Standards Act (2002), The English Tourism
Council's National Accessible Scheme (2002) BS7594 (1993) and BS60118-4 (1998)
(IEC118-4).
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA 1995)
The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (DDA 2005) amends or extends
existing provision in the DDA 1995 some of the new laws come into force in
December 2005, and some in December 2006.
There are 3 different types of systems using hard-wired loops, Infrared
technology and radio frequency transmission.
We can advise on all 3 types and have installation experience of all the
systems available.
